WEE-North Network
Women's Economic Empowerment in Northern Ghana Network
Changing the Face of Industrial Trades in Northern Ghana
To empower women in Northern Ghana through comprehensive training in industrial trades, creating sustainable economic opportunities that transform communities and industries while dismantling systemic barriers to gender equity in male-dominated sectors.
A Northern Ghana where skilled women professionals are recognized, respected, and thriving in every industry, regardless of traditional gender roles. We envision communities where women lead economic development and inspire future generations.
Our Story
WEE-North Network was founded with a simple yet powerful belief: that women in Northern Ghana deserve equal access to economic opportunities in all sectors, including those traditionally dominated by men.
What started as a vision has grown into a comprehensive network serving 16 districts across Northern Ghana. Through our four interconnected pillars—Training, Employment, Business Development, and Advocacy—we've trained over 1,500 women in 17 specialized trade areas.
Our model is unique because it doesn't just train women—it transforms entire ecosystems. We work with industries to create inclusive workplaces, with government to influence policy, and with communities to shift norms about what women can achieve.
Today, WEE-North Network graduates are leading successful businesses, breaking barriers in male-dominated fields, and inspiring the next generation of women professionals across Northern Ghana.
